No poker in the USA
August 31, 2011
Unfortunately, online poker is no longer world wide following the seizures and subsequent actions of the DOJ on Black Friday.
This leaves one of the biggest poker playing communities without the ability to play poker online. Some poker rooms are still trying to service the American market but they seem to be having considerable difficulty in processing payments, both deposits and withdrawals.
Some poker rooms on the Merge Poker Network are trying to continue to accept Americans, though not all Merge rooms are going this way.
Bodog, which was once the most American of American facing poker rooms, and is little known outside of the USA, has decided to stop accepting players from that country from the end of this year. Although, this won’t make much difference as there have been lots of reports of US players being unable to deposit there for many months now.
Hopefully the end result of all this will be the regulation of online poker for Americans and the emergence of new poker rooms that specifically take US players.
